A Welsh village can be an important clue
A place name can help narrow the search. Depending on the dates and what survives, we may examine census entries, parish records, local histories, property records and published archive collections. Our base in North Wales makes this an especially meaningful starting area for us, though we assess each request individually.
What you could tell us
- A family surname, including alternative spellings
- A Welsh village, town, chapel or farmhouse name
- Approximate dates or a story about emigration
Even one detail may be useful. Please avoid sending sensitive information about living relatives in your first email.
What you receive
A focused PDF report that explains the evidence, references its sources and points out uncertainties. The starter study is usually 2–4 pages, not a promise of a complete family tree.

£149 starter study · Up to four hours on one agreed research question. We check feasibility and explain any exclusions before payment. Extra records or further work are discussed separately.
A common question
Do I need to know where in Wales my ancestors lived?
No, although a place name helps enormously. Tell us what you already know, and we can assess whether a focused first question is realistic.
We welcome enquiries from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South America and elsewhere. Where you live does not limit your ability to ask.
